The complaint/intimation dated 08/02/2023, received from ADV ONKAR VISHWAKARMA in respect of PRIYANSHU KUMAR, was placed before the Commission on 25/09/2023. Upon perusing the same, the Commission directed as follows: |
The complainant, in the instant case, based one media reports has alleged that one Priyanshu Kumar (aged about 12 years) died due to electrocution on 07.02.2023. The fatal incident is stated to have occurred in an area under District-Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. The complainant has alleged negligence on part of the Power Corporation, thus, is seeking Commission's intervention for payment of compensation to the family of the victim and other necessary action. Vide proceedings dated 17.07.2023 complainant comments were called in light of report received, observing as under:- “…Pursuant to the directions of the Commission, report dated 05.05.2023 of the Deputy General Manager, Jharkhand Vidhyut Vitran Nigam Ltd., Ranchi has been submitted wherein it is stated that monetary compensation of Rs. 5 Lakhs has been paid to the mother of the deceased on 18.04.2023 through cheque. The Registry is directed to transmit copy of the report dated 05.05.2023 of the Deputy General Manager, Jharkhand Vidhyut Vitran Nigam Ltd., to the complainant, calling for the comment, if any within four weeks, positively. In case, the response from the complainant is not received within the stipulated time, the Commission shall proceed further on the basis of documents available on record.” With this recommendation the case is closed. |
2. Accordingly, you are directed to take further necessary action at your end as per the directions of the Commission. |
